Movement Mexico offers movement lessons corollary to ATM lessons
When we talk about a person’s “pattern," how do we construct an image for ourselves? What is it about the way that they move that immediately catches our interest? What sort of movement patterns or skeletal configurations are primary in their actions, and which are absent? And in observing what is and is not there, what can we discover about is vague in a person’s self-image?
In this 4 day training, we will explore pattern from a variety of viewpoints and become more confident about the choices we can make in response to what we see and sense in our own movements and the movements of our clients.
This workshop will deepen our understanding of postural habits in our movement patterns and therefore be able to better assess the movement patterns of others with a higher level of specificity.
By expanding our understanding of movement patterns, we tap into manifested forms of ourselves - I SEEM TO BE A VERB

NIKI DE SAINT AMOUR
Nicolette de Saint-Amour is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Pracitioner (CM), she graduated her Feldenkrais® training led by Julie Peck in Kelowna, Canada. Nicolette is Lecturer of Somatics at San Diego State University’s Dance department. She is a Secretary and Board Member of The Feldenkrais Guild of North America with over a decade of experience in various somatic modalities. She has studied intensively with Tom Meyers of Anatomy Trains and Judith Aston of Aston Kinetics in body reading and postural assessments which informs her private practice. Nicolette draws on her study of bioenergetics; her rich understanding of somatic archetypes has helped her clients find a formative process to meet life’s demands with resiliency and ease.
Born in Maputo, Mozambique, her nomadic upbringing has deeply influenced her interest in life transitions; how the body adapts to the ever-changing environment, and how this gives rise to personal mythologies. Harnessing the skill of body reading, through the lens of the Feldenkrais Method® of somatic education she highlights the interplay of physical and emotional experience to help others explore their movement potential by connecting their mind and body as a continuum of pulsatory and streaming currents, an excitatory ocean, no longer in the world of the habitual.
